I've had the set for about four months and I absolutely love it! I use the dishes and bowls way more than I thought I would. I love that they go from oven to fridge to microwave with such ease. If I were rating the product alone, I'd give it 5 stars with no hesitation.
Unfortunately, I have to deduct a star because my set arrived with the 2-quart oblong dish smashed into pieces. I discovered the broken piece towards the bottom of the box and I didn't want to go through the hassle of packing up the set and sending it back, so I kept it. Even without the 2-quart dish, this was a good deal and I'm happy with the product. I will definitely buy more Pyrex products in the future.
Just be wary of Amazon's shipping. I noticed that the Pyrex box had first been shipped to an Amazon location (as another reviewer noted) without a "Fragile" or "Contains Glass" label. Amazon then placed the Pyrex box inside their usual brown box (again without a "fragile" label) and shipped it out. I'm assuming a piece broke during the first shipping. So if you order this from Amazon, shake it around a bit to see if you hear any broken glass before you open it up.
I originally bought one of these dishes with the lid from the grocery store and absolutly feel in love with having the lid for the dish. It was nice to not have to deal with fighting saran wrap to cover the dish. The glass bowls are great so if you are making cookies you can cover the remaining batter while you bake your cookies. Plus I have always loved Pyrex for the simple reason of they put the size of the dish on the bottom. It seems a little silly, but I hate cooking something and grabbing the pan and having to guess or measure it.
Great dishes, they have not gotten stained even though tomato and cheese have both been over cooked in them. Great having the lids for easy storage and helps when taking something over to a friends or families for a shared dish.
This seemed like a great deal and from what I've seen and heard the product is nice as well. Very disappointed. Soon as I picked the box up, I could hear the sound of broken glass. I thought it was extremely odd that Amazon does not put "fragile" or "contains glass" on the outside of the box.
To make the experience worse, 1-2 months for a replacement and even with the return, I won't get money back until after Christmas (purchased around 12/9), which makes it tough to buy a replacement gift in store. I certainly won't be ordering any more glass objects through Amazon's distribution system.
This set has worked out very well for my needs. It is a nice collection. The various sizes with lids is really nice. They have held up well.
