The name Pyrex says it all. I only buy US made cookware different brands, it costs me a only few bucks more for complete peace of mind: US made products do not contain substances that are proven harmful to your health. This is a very large bowl, I ordered it for marinating BBQ meats and making pizza dough. Now that I received it I see it looks so nice that it can be used for serving salads, fruits and party mixes/snack when you have guests in the house. Cleaning is a breeze. I ordered 2 more of these.
Great size for mixing up large batches of cookies! Very worth the price and its often on the 4-for-3 list which makes it even more of a deal.
This isn't your mother's Pyrex. Over the years the Pyrex name has been sold and the glass formulation has changed. I like the fact that it's still made in the U.S.A. The bowl is lower and flatter than I would prefer. Others may prefer the shape. The integral exterior rim improves lifting, especially when hot. The price was reasonable. I mix, and microwave cook using a Corelle glass plate as a cover. What is missing is the plastic snap lid for storage.
I have three sizes of the Pyrex mixing bowls (Pyrex Prepware 3-Piece Mixing Bowl Set, Clear). They nest nicely and fit well in cabinet. Not too heavy, which is good for holding in one hand while scraping batter or dough out of bowl. Recommend getting lids, because these are nice for serving bowls as well as food prep, and would be handy to go straight to fridge for food storage. This very inexpensive bowl has great size and surface smoothness. It seems to resist chipping despite heavy use and rough handling. It also doubles as an excellent bowl for serving spaghetti meals.
Very nice bowl. Works great. It is slightly less thick than I expected, but it did not make any difference in the function. Highly recommend this.
A good-quality, handy-sized bowl. The glass was not quite as thick as I had expected, but I'm sure it will last a good, long time if I'm careful with it.
What more can I say? It's a big glass bowl that works as you'd expect.
This is a great bowl. It was a replacement for my 52 year old yellow pyrex large mixing bowl that fell out of a drainer and broke on the countertop. I ordered the clear glass 4 quart bowl to replace it and have found the new one to be more than satisfactory. I like the clear glass better than the old opaque glass that was yellow on the outside and white on the inside. The size is just right. And best of all, I did not have to go shopping to replace the broken bowl. Thank you Amazon.com!!!
